Barbgaunts – living bio-artillery creatures firing explosive chitinous projectiles.

Barbgaunts are living weapons engineered to serve as biological artillery for Tyranid swarms. Their bodies and organic cannons are controlled by grotesque ganglio-parasites that drive them into battle and direct their attacks through the creatures’ nervous systems.

Each Barbgaunt is fused to a massive barblauncher capable of firing volleys of jagged chitinous projectiles. Upon impact, these projectiles detonate in violent muscular spasms that tear through enemy ranks and spread chaos across the battlefield.

The hunched bioforms use their powerful limbs to stabilise their living artillery weapons while parasitic tendrils burrow into their eyeless skulls to guide the bombardment.

Barbgaunts work exceptionally well as supporting fire units in Tyranid armies for Warhammer 40K.

Barbgaunts provide biological fire support and disrupt enemy advances with explosive projectiles.

They work especially well in Tyranid armies for Warhammer 40K focused on swarm tactics, synaptic support, and ranged pressure.
