ORKS: RUNTHERD AND GRETCHIN

Gretchin, or Grots as the Orks usually call them, are small, cowardly, and permanently terrified creatures who would much rather hide deep inside a sporehole than participate in a real battle.

They are neither especially strong, brave, nor competent and normally do everything possible to avoid warfare. Unfortunately for the Grots, Orks love forcing them onto the battlefield anyway – usually under threat of violence from a loud and aggressive Runtherd.

When gathered into large mobs, however, Gretchin can become surprisingly dangerous through sheer weight of numbers alone. Armed with rusty weapons, panicked shrieking, and expendable bodies, they are hurled forward as living cannon fodder to distract enemies, hold objectives, or simply get in the way while the real Orks do the fighting.

The kit includes 10 Gretchin and one Ork Runtherd, along with multiple head options and components allowing you to create a varied and characterful Gretchin mob filled with chaotic energy and comedic detail.

Gretchin work exceptionally well as cheap support and objective-holding units in Ork armies for Warhammer 40K.

On the Battlefield

Gretchin provide cheap numbers, objective control, and classic Orky humour on the battlefield.

They work especially well in Ork armies for Warhammer 40K focused on large hordes, aggressive assaults, and thematic greenskin chaos.
