Plague Marines, sworn to serve Nurgle, have foul, rotting bodies that reek of decay. The tenacious mucus that oozes from their boils and wounds corrodes armor and eats away at skin. Despite these seemingly severe handicaps, they are nevertheless feared warriors because their brains have disconnected all sensation from their diseased bodies and also make them immune to the pain of war injuries.

Plague Marines who have proven themselves as leaders are given the opportunity to become Nurgle's champions and mark this with special equipment and weapons.
