Long ago, this formidable wyrm looted the city of Ebrajin, and razed the stepped pyramid consecrated to Ahatmoth - a Hakirian river demigoddess. After leveling much of the city, Chaarondar took the solid gold ark that held the divine remains of Ahatmoth. Without the relic, the surviving faithful quarreled in the streets, her priests lost their authority, and the faith perished. As the river dried up, the lake emptied, the city was abandoned, and it was eventually swallowed by the desert.

After centuries of raiding and pillaging, the great wyrm has withdrawn to her lair to rest upon a bed of coins, jewels, and fabulous treasures. Chaarondar's scaly hide hasn't been seen for nearly a century, but she has recently begun to stir. A band of adventurers happened upon her lair and disturbed the sleeping beast. Enraged, she took her time devouring the so-called dragonslayers. The great wyrm now watches from her mountain lair, biding her time for the Orcs of Kargir to sweep into Vestonia. In the ensuing chaos, Chaarondar will descend upon the verdant lands and reduce the forests and fields to ash and the cities to rubble.
